Hi, I tried synctoy and had high hopes for it. However if memory serves it did not auto-discover new directories that were added after the initial sync was setup and it only had support for exclude filters by file type. As I have lots of files and directories that I don't want to sync between machines this ruled out sync toy. btw examples of excludes are the Lotus Notes data directory (except ID file), Groove data (which replicates itself), log files, database files.

Foldershare I also use, I have it on all of the kids laptops and it replicates a copy of "My documents" I really like it's simplicity as well, but it is not designed for collections of files the size of mine and it does not allow you to have seperate jobs that replicate sub-trees of each other, this is one of my key needs as I replicate certain directory trees every 2 minutes, others every hour and others every day.

Anyone reading this will probably say "sort out your directory tree"!!! and I suppose it would be possible to have seperate trees for frequenty synced data and for data that should not be synced, but I have tried that in the past and it still sems to evolve back into a mess, oh well we are all different :-)

Just wondering if you have tried either of the following two solutions:

1) Microsoft SyncToy

This was orginally developed by people wanting to share photo files across computers. I have used it for a wide range of work folders and even my OneNote Notebook folder.

2) Microsoft FolderShare

This is my new favorite. So far it is working splendidly.

I have not tried Allway Synch, but with these other free options I don't see any reason to switch.
