Migration to WordPress
For the last few years I have been blogging using the Blogware platform hosted by www.blogharbor.com and I have been very happy with the service. But the Blogware platform is aging a bit and there’s little development activity going on so I started to get a little nervous about the future of the knowledge base that I’ve been building up. Since I’m about to start blogging more actively again I thought it was time to make a move.
Fortunately my hosting company recently announced that they were going to provide a hosted WordPress service at www.pressharbor.com and that they would provide a managed migration service. So last night they did the migration and I did a few tweaks to the template and I have a new blog at steves.seasidelife.com.
John over at PressHarbor did an incredible job and most of the content migrated over just fine. There were a few minor issues with some of the very old posts and differences in the implementation of tags but nothing that was a show stopper.
As far as I understand it for most people redirection will be automatic, but just in case:
