Migration to WordPress
For the last few years I have been blogging using the Blogware platform hosted by www.blogharbor.com and I have been very happy with the service. But the Blogware platform is aging a bit and there’s little development activity going on so I started to get a little nervous about the future of the knowledge base that I’ve been building up. Since I’m about to start blogging more actively again I thought it was time to make a move.
Fortunately my hosting company recently announced that they were going to provide a hosted WordPress service at www.pressharbor.com and that they would provide a managed migration service. So last night they did the migration and I did a few tweaks to the template and I have a new blog at steves.seasidelife.com.
John over at PressHarbor did an incredible job and most of the content migrated over just fine. There were a few minor issues with some of the very old posts and differences in the implementation of tags but nothing that was a show stopper.
As far as I understand it for most people redirection will be automatic, but just in case:
Blog – http://steves.seasidelife.com/
RSS feed – http://steves.seasidelife.com/feed/
Glad you are happy with the move to our new PressHarbor service!!! We hope you enjoy blogging with us for years to come. Best of luck with the site!
Welcome to WordPress, look forward to hearing how you get on with it.
BTW, love the design, good find that!
