Days like this

20140119-100315_iOSDays like this can be a bit frustrating! Waking up on a sunny day, with a mild wind & nothing planned, a day full of opportunity, rudely constrained by inflamed knees & Achilles’ tendons. But then this is why I’m very fortunate, I’m a short hobble away from a lovely Caffe Nero where I can read a personally curated collection of fascinating web articles. Then I’m another short hobble away from fantastic beach views from the Deckhouse Cafe which has the double advantage of very friendly staff. I will be reading a book there, probably ‘A Brief History of Time’ & getting brunch (Bacons & Eggs).

After these short hobbles my legs might have eased enough to tackle a few sand dune climbs, but maybe not. I’ll do a little shopping and then head home to a movie on TV which also provides a great opportunity to get the weeks ironing done, providing a bit more of a workout for my legs. Then maybe I will do my stretches & a couple of minutes of The Plank.

By then Debbie will be cooking Sunday lunch, Roast Chicken, steamed veg & wonderful Yorkshire Puddings, with Yorkshire Puddings & Treacle for desert. The washing up will complete my workout for the day.

Then I will spend a relaxing hour on my laptop, a lovely Lenovo Twist (which unfortunately has horrendous battery life) scanning my RSS feeds, planning next weeks TV viewing & walks, assuming today’s efforts will have fixed my legs by tomorrow.

Then Debbie & I will settle in for 70 minutes of advert-less TV, probably an episode of the superb Elementary & the equally great How I Met your Mother, the cast of which now feel almost like family. The day will be rounded off by reading my current fiction book ‘Total Control’ while soaking in the bath.

It’s a wonderful life!
