Catching Up

It’s been a day for catching up, catching up with friends, with the cleaning, with a bit of DIY, with reading and with myself.

The day started badly, I’d not slept very well and somehow forgot to set my alarm so I woke up only a few minutes before I was due to meet John at Caffe Nero.  The result was the fastest morning routine ever.  I still managed to sort out the cats and grab a protein bar but I think I was out the door 5 minutes after my feet touched the carpet.  I didn’t think I’d get my seat by the window, but surprisingly both sets of window seats were free, in fact the whole place was empty, so I collapsed into my chair and read Stuff magazine until John arrived.  We chatted for an hour and then he left to take his Mum to hospital, I did a bit more reading and then went for a run in the dunes, when I say run I mean 3 minutes of running, which nearly killed me!  I walked to St Annes green and then back into town, doing press-ups and dips along the way.

After a quick shop I then walked home, made soup for lunch and listened to some music while doing my colouring book.  Then I got stuck into chores, I fixed the latch on the bathroom window, vacuumed, cleaned the bathroom, and the toilets, polished the mirrors, sorted out the cats and cleaned the kitchen.  I then added my new years resolutions to Google keep, planned out a few blog posts, finished my non-fiction book ‘The Crash Course’ and read a very funny book Debbie bought for me about Men and their sheds.

Debbie arrived home late and we headed out to Toby’s for dinner in the car.  I walked home via town as I wanted to finish the shopping, Debbie walked home as well, only to arrive and realise that she’d left her car at Toby’s.  Back home I made up my fruit salad supper and Debbie’s lunch before TV (How I Met Your Mother) and bath.

Tomorrow I’m planning to spend the morning in Lytham.
