Allotment Diary–Thursday 04 August 2016

Debbie and I dodged the showers today to apply nematodes to the allotment, mainly for carrot and onion fly, the rain watered it in nicely.  We cropped a half bin bag full of veg and ate quite a bit as we walked around.

In the garden we are having problems with mildew on the courgettes, but now it’s spread to the chard and beets in the adjacent bed.  I’ve trimmed the beets

and cut the chard down to the ground.

Also pulled up the last of the lettuce and replaced it with three rows of carrots and three of beetroot.
