I’ve never Worked So Hard

It was only the first day of my gym training, but honestly I can already say that I’ve never worked so hard, that’s the difference that a personal trainer makes.  The first session was free and was more of an assessment than a training session, but the assessment was hard, 20 minutes of push-ups, squats, sit-ups, rowing and bench press – all to failure, with only short rest stops; it was great! I’m exhausted now, but already looking forward to my next session on Friday.  Maybe the swimming, cycling and walking before my training session were not such a good idea though,.

I’m already loving back in the swimming routine, it’s such a relaxing way to start the day, but it’s already clear that if I’m going to be swimming regularly I’m going to need something to protect my skin, it’s already sensitive, so all that chlorine is going to be a problem.  My first attempt at protection is going to be dermaswim pro, pre-swimming lotion.  I tried it today and my skin definitely felt less sensitive, so fingers crossed, it’s expensive though but searching around there don’t seem to be many options.

My legs have felt like lead and very tender for the rest of the day and after my nap I just felt like going back to sleep again, but I applied my ‘iron will’ and cut and edged the front and back lawns, I’m pleased that I did too, well worth the effort.

I’m looking forward to heading out on my bike tomorrow, the wind direction and strength seems to favour Cleveleys as destination, hopefully I will have time for a swim before I leave!
