Allotment Diary–Friday 17 June 2016
Today was all about planting up the rows that I’d cleared with the big crop yesterday, although I still took two bags of salad, one of kale, one of spring greens.
I put in a long row of peas up against the new climbing frame at the plot entrance:
this is slightly shaded so it will be interesting to see how well they do here.
Then I planted up a row of purple beans, in the bamboo cane frame under the trees, a variety chosen for their exceptionally high nutrition content
I put in another row of radicchio
Finally I put in spinach, spring onions, radish and rocket in the main beds
