Allotment Diary–Monday 27 June 2016
I’ve mostly been weeding today although I did crop a couple of bags of mixed veg for my smoothies and Pete gave me a cucumber. I also started as I mean to go on and spent a few minutes strimming the green drive.
I decided to take the opportunity to take some photo’s though as Debbie asked yesterday and I’ve not taken any recently. It’s nice to have a record of the whole plot as it has been this year, before I change things around a bit later in the year.
First is a panorama of the whole site.
Then in more detail, working from left to right, we have the strawberry and brassica beds
Followed by the salad beds:
Then the beans and peas
The fruit bushes, carrots, tomatoes, sweet corn and potatoes
The raspberries
the temporary beds, and apple trees, these are under planted with cauliflower, red cabbage and lots of beans, peas and radish
and finally, the flower garden, where I’ve just planted about 20 red tulips that we got free from the town council
