Some good news about Longhorn
In this article, InfoWorld talks to Greg Sullivan, lead product manager at Microsoft, about Longhorn and reports:
Although it is too early for specifics, Sullivan said Longhorn should be a better performing, more stable, and more secure operating system because it will be based on the Windows Server 2003 SP1 (Service Pack 1) code base. Microsoft will also include tools to ease desktop deployment, management, and diagnostics, making it simple to spot and fix problems, he said.
I run Windows 2003 Server on my Laptop and Desktops and prefer it. I would never want to go back to Windows XP. The main things I like compared to XP are Shadow Copies and Terminal Services, with SP1 adding support for Terminal Services over https, things are only getting better.
